Rowling.

Chapter 5-Remus Gets a Detention

Professor Lupin kept walking around the two of them. Glancing up slightly to peak at the man when he walked passed Remus, Severus could tell that the man was a lot more anxious than he wanted them to believe. His eyes shown with amazement and confussion as he looked down upon his teenage form. Severus realized that it had been a long time since Remus had seen that form, except in pictures perhaps.

Lupin looked up and smiled at Severus, who blushed lightly and looked down at his test. He hated being caught staring like a Muggle child at a 'magic' show. He forced himself to take in the questions on the paper.

1. How can you tell the difference between a werewolf and a real wolf?

Severus raised a brow. Was this supposed to be a joke? He was a werewolf and surely Lupin realized that he already knew that he was. It was how he found out that had made him hold off Remus's offer of friendship. He was never sure if he really had anything to do with it, though he wanted to believe he hadn't.

He started writing and went through question after question, ignoring Lupin when he passed by his desk. Before long he placed his quill in the inkwell in front of him and looked up to find Remus had just finished as well. He smiled and Severus could tell that he too felt odd in the presence of his future self. Lupin, who had since taking a seat at his desk, looked up and smiled pleasantly.

"Very good," he said. "You've both finished and with ten minutes to spare. You may leave early, but come in tommorow so we can discuss your scores. Just "

Severus stood with Remus and the two started for the door, Lupin calling back to him.

"Severus, don't forget your detention after dinner."

Severus merely nodded and left with Remus, shutting the door behind them.

"He's just going to torture me," he groaned to Remus, who laughed.

"You don't know that. What makes you think so?"

"Remus, he was smirking when he gave me that detention. And who knows what things the older me has done to him. Now he's going to take revenge on me since he can."

Remus blinked and looked at him with disbelief. "Okay, Sirius. Shall we head to McGonagall's. You have her next too, right?"

Severus growled at the name the Gryffindor used. "Don't ever call me that!" He took a deep breath and took out his schedule as Remus took out his. Handing it to the boy he watched as Remus looked them over and grinned.

"We have all of the same classes," he announced and returned Severus's schedule to its owner. "As to calling you Sirius. I won't do it if you don't act like him. Don't scowl at me. You were and you know it. Come on, or we'll both be late for McGonagall. I'd rather not get stuck with a detention on the first day."

Unluckily for Remus, just as they arrived in the dungeon classroom for Potions and sat down for the last test a few seats away from one another, Pofessor Severus Snape entered with a very sour look on his face. He looked from his younger self with reluctant surprise and disgust, to Remus with the same disgust and weariness. He passed out the test and informed them that they had an hour to finish before walking back to his desk and settling into it. He stared silently at one and then at the other, which didn't help Remus or Severus. Unfortunately, it was Remus who rose his hand.

Snape sneered and nodded. "Yes, Mr. Lupin," he acknowledged.

"Sir, it's just that... wel, I'm afraid I can't focus on this test with you staring at me."

"Is that so," the man said slowly. "Unfortunately for you, I am well within my allowences to stare at whomever I please, Mr. Lupin. If you cannot focus on as simple a test as that which lays before you, then perhaps you belong in a lower class."

Remus looked scandelized and even Severus wasn't sure he liked the man he would become.

"But, sir-"

"Twenty points from Gryffindor, Mr. Lupin. You'll do well to raise your hand every time you wish to speak. Also, a detention for your disrespect. You're to call me Professor, not sir."

Remus fell silent and Severus saw a blush rising in the boy's cheeks as he trained his eyes to his paper. He believed he was right in thinking that a teacher had never before talked to Remus like that, or that Remus had never caused his house points to lower. He slightly felt bad for thinking it was well passed time that the goodie-two-shoes got in some form of trouble.

There were no other inturuptions and Snape continued to stare at them, not making the task of finishing the test easy for either of them. When the bell rang, Snape waved his wand and both of their papers soared to rest upon his desk. Glancing at each, he sniffed loudly before nodding.

"Very well, you both finished. I suppose you can go onto dinner. Mr. Lupin, you are to report back here after dinner. Don't be late or it'll be another twenty points and a second detention."

Remus rose quickly and Severus had to rush to catch up with him.

"You know, that's the first time I've ever lost points or been assigned detention," the Gryffindor admitted when they were well away from Snape's classroom. Severus nodded. His guess had been right.

"It's not that bad, Remus," he said. "You'll probably just get some lines to write over and over."

Remus, however, wasn't listening. He stopped and Severus stopped, raising a brow when the boy looked at him curiously for a moment.

"Severus," he said. "You do believe I had nothing to do with what Sirius did to you, right? I would never. You know that, right?"

Severus's face smoothed and he sighed. He realized that he'd always known; that he'd just been looking for someone easy to blame.

"I know, Remus. No need to get sappy. Let's just get to dinner and get the detentions over with."

Remus smiled and nodded. Together, they headed for the Great Hall.
</lj>

(Chapter 1)
(Chapter 2)
(Chapter 3)
(Chapter 4)

Rowling.

Chapter 4-Professor Remus J. Lupin

Severus had realized long before Lupin had that the person he would meet would be his adult self. In fact, he had realized it the moment Dumbledore had informed them of the person who would remind themselves of themselves. He wasn't surprised that he wasn't nervous or excited to meet his future self. After all, it was just himself but older. The thing that made him nervous was the fact that he would be meeting Remus's older self. Remus at their age now intimidated him enough as it was (though he hated to admit it). He couldn't imagine how this older, smarter Professor Lupin would make him feel. At least with Remus he could mask his nerves with cold silence; with this teacher, he could no longer do that.

Malfoy took him to McGonagall's office, who was Deputy Headmistress and handled all the schedules, the next morning rather than straight away. She also informed him of the classes and tests that he and Remus solely would have to sit through. He glanced over his and immediately tasted something sour in his mouth. The first person he would have to meet was indeed Professor Remus J. Lupin. Swallowing hard, he startled slightly when a hand was placed on his shoulder. He looked up into Malfoy's dark grey eyes. The boy smirked.

"I can't imagine what you must feel, about to meet your own self," he said. "Everything I've ever known about time-travel says that a person is never supposed to see themselves. What's happening now is going against everyone of those rules."

Severus nodded. He, too, had been thinking the exact same thing since the moment they arrived in Dumbledore's office. Suddenly his eyes widened and he swore softly.

"Er, Draco," he said slowly. "What day is today?" Malfoy shrugged.

"It's the twenty-third," he drawled uncaringly. A string of curses and hexes ran through Severus's mind. He was supposed to have met with Lucius Malfoy in Hogsmede to discuss some kind of proposition the man had. He groaned but for some reason had a sudden calm about missing the meeting. Instead of worrying any further, be shrugged uncaringly himself before sighing.

"Never mind, it doesn't matter," he said in answer to Malfoy's questioning face. "Anyway, I should head to Defense. There's no need to hang around."

Malfoy shrugged and headed off for the stairs as Severus made his way down the corridor that held the Defense Against the Dark Art's class. He found it with ease and entered just as Remus was leaving. They collided into one another and a loud smack echoed the hallway.

"Ow, sorry, Severus," he said and smiled. "Professor...er, Lupin asked me to find you. You're late, you know?"

Severus sighed and nodded. "Yes, I realized, Remus. Let's get in so that I'm not any more late than I already am."

Standing, Remus offered the Slytherin his hand which Severus took. The Gryffindor helped him to his feet and the two of them entered the class once more, Severus following Remus to the very front of the room. The teacher at the desk looked up and Severus blinked as he took in the man before him. He didn't realize he was stairing until Remus elbowed him. Clearing his throat, he took a seat a few chairs from Remus's and looked up at the man. Professor Lupin watched him for a moment before smiling.

"Since Mr. Snape has kindly joined us, we may now start the test," he said and Severus found himself listening more intently than he ever had in his life. What was this man doing to him? Did he spell him?

Lupin picked up his wand from his desk and flicked it first at the desk in front of Remus and then at the desk in front of Severus.

"You may begin," he said. "You have one hour to complete the test. Oh, and Mr. Snape. I'll see you in detention tonight right after dinner."

Severus wanted to smack the smirk right of of the man's face but bit his lip hard and began the test.
She ignored her feelings and now he's married. She has lost her chance, but someone else will admit his feelings for her.

Chapter 3

Haruhi was just about to leave her office when the phone rang. Looking up from her open briefcase, she raised a brow quizzically at the phone. She hadn't been expecting a call so she bit her lip, debating whether or not she should answer it. Just as the phone rang a third time, she decided that it was possibly one of her clients and might be urgent. With a sigh, she reached over the slight mess of notes and papers that littered her desk, picking up the receiver and speaking breathlessly into it.

"Hai, Haruhi Fujioka's office," she said. She felt rather than saw the grin that told her exactly who was on the other line.

"Haruhi, I'm sure you are aware it is Kyouya Ootori. I was just calling to confirm our dinner arrangements for this evening and to ask if their is any particular place you would like to eat."

Haruhi sighed inwardly. She was tired and a little wary but reminded herself that she had decided to give Kyouya a chance, and to forget about Tamaki. Smiling, though not really sure what compelled her to smile when the man on the other line wouldn't see it, she affirmed the date and told him that anywhere was fine with her.

"Very good. I will pick you up at your place in two hours," he said and she could hear the delight in his voice, which caused her to shiver. What was it about him that caused her to react completely different than she had with any other guy in her life (not that there had been many). "Until then,Fujioka-san." Then the click of him hanging up.

Placing the phone back onto it's cradle, she tapped her fingers on her desk. She had two hours to decide what she was going to wear, to shower, and to be ready by the timeKyouya arrived at her apartment .

Snapping her briefcase shut, she mentally asked herself why she had ever agreed in the first place. A date with Kyouya wasn't going to be anything like the few dates she'd been on before. Kyouya was a son of one of the most prominent families in Japan, and there was no doubt that any restaurant he chose would require quite expensive dress. With a groan, she rushed out of her office building and started hurriedly for her apartment a couple blocks away.

-----
Haruhi finished applying her makeup the moment the buzzer rang. She swore lightly and took a quick look over her evening attire.

She had chosen her simple (but most elegant) black dress and a simple strand of pearls. She always cut her hair short and so that had saved her time emensely, allowing her to do her make up (though she hated wearing the stuff). Adding the little pearl stubs, she grabbed her small black hand bag and slipped on her heels just as a knock came upon her door.

Taking a deep breath, she made her way to the door and opened it, her eyes falling upon the sharply dressed man standing in her door frame . She stood still as his eyes took her in and felt her cheeks heat slightly at the approval in his eyes as they returned to hers. He grinned and offered his arm, which she took, taking the chance to look him over through her lashes.

Kyouya had chosen a black tux with a silver vest and tie. Simple but it was he that made it so elegantly handsome. They set off down the stairs and out of her apartment building, thanking the doorman as he held the door open for the two of them. Kyouya's car was waiting in front of the building and Kyouya released her arm to open the car door for her, shutting it after she slid in and walked around to the other side of the car and sliding in himself, shutting the door as he told his driver they were ready to go.

The ride was an awkwardly silent one. Haruhi didn't like to talk until someone said something first, but Kyouya was obviously not about to start a conversation. As they reached the restaurant, Kyouya opened her car door and offered his arm once more. She cleared her throat as they entered the restaurant, but they were wisked off to a private table near the large window over looking a large fountain outside the moment they reached the seater's podium.Kyouya pulled out her seat and pushed it in once she'd been seated before taking his own seat. With a deep breath, Haruhi looked up at him and smiled.

"Thank you for taking me out to night, Kyouya," she said, and looked around for a moment, searching for something-anything-to say. "Ano, this is a very nice place. Is it one of your favorites?"

Kyouya smiled his signature Shadow King grin and Haruhi knew what was coming. "Ah, my family owns this restaurant.

"Rich bastards," Haruhi groaned. "Is there anything your family doesn't do, Kyouya-san?"

Kyouya laughed, and Haruhi blinked in surprise before slowly smiling. Kyouya hardly laughed and when he did, it always made her smile. Perhaps because it was so rare.

"I'm afraid there is'nt a lot my family does not do," he admitted. "My family is quite large and has been around for quite sometime."

Haruhi nodded and smiled as the waiter came to take their drink order. Both of them answered that they would like a glass of water in unison and laughed lightly as the waiter hurried off for two waters.

"So, Haruhi, what do you think you would like to eat?"

Haruhi picked up her menu and her eyes brightened as she looked it over. "I think I would like to have the giant tuna, if you don't mind."

Kyouya shook his head. "Not at all, Haruhi. This is a date after all. Besides, giant tuna sounds good so I think I might get the same." He set down his menu and folded his hands over it, smiling as he gazed at her. "You look very pretty tonight, Haruhi, if you'll forgive my forwardness."

Haruhi blushed and stared at her menu, shaking her head slightly. "Th-thank you, Kyouya-san. You look very nice as well."

Kyouya smiled and changed the subject to her work as the waiter arrived with the waters and took their order. They traded stories from work until their food came and they ate in comfortable silence, once in a while trading glances.

Haruhi set down her fork with a satiated sigh before taking a sip of water. Kyouya, who had finished moments before, paid and tipped the waiter before standing and moving around the table to pull out Haruhi's seat. Taking her arm gently he lead her back through the restaurant and out of the building.

"If you don't need to be up early tommorow, would you like to take a small walk through the park half a block from here?"

Haruhi looked up at him and smiled. "Yes, I'd like that."

They set off and entered the park, making small talk and becoming increasingly more at ease around one another. Haruhi was even able to make Kyouya laugh a couple of times. Instead of taking his car, Kyouya walked her to her apartment building and up to her apartment. They set a day for another date and Haruhi surprised herself, as well as Kyouya, when she stepped up to him and pressed a soft kiss upon his lips. Kyouya's surprise was shortlived, however, and he pulled her into a deeper kiss before releasing her.

"Good night, Haruhi," he said, his voice slightly deeper. Haruhi shivered slightly and whispered a goodnight in return before unlocking her apartment and entering, shutting the door behind her. Pressing her fingers to her lips, she slightly wondered if she should have invited him in.

Rowling.

Chapter 3- Remus's Revelation

Remus was quickly introduced to Harry's best friends, Ron Weasley and Hermione Granger. They didn't seem surprised by the fact that they were meeting a boy from twenty-one years in the past. In fact, they seemed thrilled to meet him and were happy to answer any questions he might have.

"You might say that we have experience in time travel," the bushy haired, brunette said with a small laugh. The red head beside her scowled.

"Speak for yourself, Hermione," he muttered. "That was only you and Harry. I was left behind, if you recall."

Hermione rolled her eyes. "And you had a broken leg too, if I recall correctly."

Ron bit back any reply that had been settling on his tongue and turned to Remus. "Blimey, though. Twenty-one years into the future. How do you feel?"

Remus blinked, surprised by being the subject at hand once again. He shrugged with a smile. "I don't feel any different. I'm a little worried though. Something Dumbledore told Severus and myself before we left his office. He said we were to meet someone who might remind us of ourselves."

The look passed between the three wasn't lost on Remus. He raised a brow and looked from one to the other.

"The three of you know what he's talking about," he stated. They nodded but didn't offer any hints. Remus sighed. "I suppose I'll just have to wait until I see them to know. Can't be any more crazy than what's already happened."

The three of them laughed and Hermione clapped her hands together. "We're supposed to take you to McGonagall for your schedule."

Remus followed the three, installing to memory the names and faces of people they pointed out, of corridors to steer clear of, and the Quidditch standings for that year thus far. It was the exact same day in this time as it had been in his own, and so they wouldn't have to worry about classes for another week. Well, Harry, Ron, and Hermione wouldn't. He, however, would have to sit in with each of his teachers to take a test making sure he had the aptitude for the level he was being transfered into. McGonagall made it clear that even if he was in the same classes in his own time, it didn't matter. Different teachers taught differently, taught different things, taught harder or easier. He bit his tongue and chose his classes, deciding that here was just one more similarity between his time and this time: you just didn't argue with McGonagall. He took his schedule silently when she handed it to him and was surprised when he caught an entertained sort of smile on her face.

"Do well, Mr. Lupin," she said. "I trust I don't have reason to worry, so I won't. You're expected in your first class tommorow morning first thing after breakfast to take your Defense Against the Dark Arts aptitude test. Mr. Potter can accompany you. You are free to go."

Remus smiled and nodded, joining the others outside McGonagall's office. He didn't even glance at the schedule as he folded and pocketed it.

"You've missed dinner," Hermione said. "McGonagall gave us permission to take you to the kitchens if you're hungry."

Remus shook his head. Even with all the excitement, he wasn't the least bit hungry and just wanted to get to bed so that he would wake the next day and find this all to be some odd dream.

"No thank you," he said. "I'm tired so I think I'd like to head up to bed. I have several tests tommorow, after all, so I want to be rested up."

The three nodded and they walked silently to Gryffindor Tower. When they entered the common room, several people looked up, their eyes trained on Remus. Heat flushed to his cheeks as he looked down at his feet. He really didn't like being the center of attention; that was James and Sirius's forte. Hermione announced loudly that she was going to get some studying done and that the common room was to be completely silent. The stares slowly found their way back to previous tasks and Remus smiled his thanks to her. She smiled back before kissing Ron and bidding them a good night. Ron, his cheeks a little red, ran his hand through his head before clearing his throat.

"So, shall we get you up to the dormitory. A bed's already been conjured for you, along with a trunk with anything you'll need."

Remus nodded. He could still feel some of the Gryffindor's eyes on him and he wanted to be out of this forced spot light as soon as possible. As they crossed the room and started up the stairs, he couldn't help but feel that it wasn't just because he was from the past that caused them to stare. It was as if they already knew him, but not in this form.

Could they possibly know his adult form? The Remus Lupin that would be thirty eight in this time.

Then it hit him. The person that Dumbledore meant would remind him of himself was himself. His thirty eight year old self.

Were the surprises ever going to end?

(Chapter 1)
(Chapter 2)

She ignored her feelings and now he's married. She has lost her chance, but someone else will admit his feelings for her.

Chapter 2

Haruhi blinked as Kyouya pulled away, the knowing grin on his face causing heat to rush to her cheeks as she looked away.

"Kyouya-senpai, we--"

"Haruhi, we are no longer in school so you no longer need to call me senpai."

Haruhi sighed and brought her eyes to meet his. "Fine, Kyouya-san. We can't--I can't--do this. My feelings for Tamaki are still here," she said and pressed her hand over her heart before looking away once more. "I'm sorry."

A soft, deep chuckle caused a cold shiver to run down Haruhi's spine. "Haruhi, do you not think I realize this. But in time, I think you know as well as I that those feelings will receed. You will learn to love me, for I won't take no for an answer."

Haruhi looked up at him, wide-eyed and for a moment, slightly afraid. She then chided herself as she laughed, a little shakily. She understood Kyouya better than most, and that was just his way of joking. It was as close to joking as he would get. But what he had said did have some truth. She couldn't deny that she was undoubtably attracted to the man. He was handsom, cool, calm, collected, and he just had that mysterious air about him that lead to one's wanting to learn more. She bit her lip again before looking up at the tall man who still held her.

"Okay, Kyouya-san," she said, and smiled up at him. "We can give it a try."

Kyouya's brows rose and Haruhi almost broke out laughing at the slip in composure. "Really? You truely want to, Haruhi?"

She giggled lightly and nodded before stepping on tiptoe, pressing into his body as she pressed her lips to Kyouya's in a chaste kiss. "I truely would like to try, Kyouya," she said, and stepped out of his embrace, offering her hand to him. He looked at it questioningly, emmiting another giggle from her. "We should tell Tamaki and the others, don't you think?"

His signature grin spread slowly onto his lips as he nodded. "Indeed, we should. I think Tamaki would throw a fit if he realized we were dating behind his back. The twins, too, undoubtedly." He took her hand.

Haruhi laughed and the two of them proceeded back into the building once more, making their way back to the other Host Club members. They worked hard to keep there faces deadpan as silence fell upon their group at the sight of their conjoined hands.

Kyouya cleared his throat, which to Haruhi was obviously to cover up the laughter itching at the back of his throat, but for the others was a signature Kyouya move to get everyone's attention on him.

"Haruhi and I have decided to attempt a relationship," he announced. It was silent until Tamaki beamed and looked from one to the other.

"With who?" he asked, and both Haruhi and Kyouya choked back their laughter. Sometimes their blond friend really lived up to his hair color. Kyouya opened his mouth to speak but Kaoru beat him to it.

"Tamaki, I believe it is obvious that they mean to date one another," he said, his eyes on the tall dark haired man. Kyouya raised a brow and smirked slightly. There was a steeliness in the redhead's gaze and tone that piqued Kyouya's curiosity. Tamaki's eyes widened meanwhile as the realization sank into his brain.

"Oh! No! Daddy doesn't approve!" he said and they were once again in the Third Music Room, discussing their favorite topic: Haruhi. "Kyouya, you're Haruhi's mother. You cannot have a relationship with her. "

Kyouya pushed his glasses up the bridge of his nose before fixing his gaze to his best friend. "I'm afraid we aren't asking your permission. And besides, Tamaki. We're a little to old to continue on with posing us as 'family members'."

Tamaki opened his mouth to speak, closed it as he looked around at them, and finally shrugged, a smile on his face.

"You're right, Kyouya," he said, his tone sincere. "Forgive me, I was just caught in the moment. I wish both of you luck. Now, why not celebrate the start of your relationship." He handed his best friend and Haruhi a glass of wine before raising his own. The other Host Club members, including Kaoru (though reluctantly by his brother's request), followed suit.

"To Kyouya and Haruhi," Tamaki said, beaming as if a father giving away his daughter at her wedding. The others echoed the toast and the group drank from their glasses. That is, Kyouya, noticed, everyone except Kaoru.

It seemed the submissive twin had hidden feelings for his old 'toy' . Unfortunately for Kaoru, Kyouya had beat him to her and he wasn't about to give her up.

(Chapter 1)

Sitting up, the latter boy looked around and laughed.

"So, the book takes us to the Headmaster's office. Interesting design for a book. I can see why we were mentioned in it now, Severus," he said with a small chuckle. Severus shook his head and pointed at the book on the ground. Well, it wasn't a book more than it was merely a pile of ash.

"I think it took us father than Dumbledore's office, Lupin," he muttered and looked up at Dumbledore. "We're in the future, aren't we, Professor?"

The old man nodded with a twinkle in his eyes and a wide smile on his lips. "Indeed Messrs. Lupin and Snape, you have been transported some time into the future. And it was by my design, in any case. Though even I haven't a clue why, you were needed here for some reason. Or the book wouldn't have worked. Thus is the way of magic. You must need it to make it work."

Remus and Severus merely nodded rather than ask the man to explain what he'd just said. Instead, questions ran through their minds and they attempted to ask all of them at once, causing Dumbledore to hold up his hand with a laugh.

"Most of your questions will be answered in time, and some I'm afraid I will not be able to answer," he said as he switched his gaze back and forth between the two of them. "For now, I believe I don't need to tell you, but you have no way to return back to your time until what needs to take place does so. What needs to take place is what you two need to find out. When it does, I suspect that the chance to return to your time will be made available to you." He smiled.

"The staff has already been informed of your arrival, and you will go by your own names here. It isn't often that old students are transported to another time. You will be housed in your respective houses and I must warn you that both of you will meet someone who might remind you of yourself. That is all for now, I believe," he said with another smile. "I have asked the Head Boy and a Prefect from Slytherin to help you out if you need it. I doubt you will though, as hardly anything has changed in twenty-one years. Now, run along."

Remus and Severus left speechless as Dumbledore's last word sifted into their minds. They were twenty-one years into the future and they were supposed to do something that they had no idea how to do, not to mention what to do. As they reached the last steps of the spiral staircase, they came upon two young males, one with unruly dark hair that reminded Remus instantly of James, and a blond that brought Lucius Malfoy to Severus's mind, and they both appeared to be the same age as the two of them. The blond was the first to look up, and smirked as his eyes fell on Severus.

"This is very odd," he said, and held out his hand to the other Slytherin. "I am Draco Malfoy. No doubt you know my father." Severus merely nodded and watched as Remus made his way to the raven haired boy.

"I suspect I am right in assuming you are the son of James Potter and Lily Evans?" he asked and the boy smiled with a nod.

"I am, Remus," he said with a grin that Severus thought was James in every way.

"Now that we are introduced," Malfoy drawled, pulling everyone's attention to himself. "And since I doubt you need a tour, is there anything you would like to do?"

Remus watched as Harry raised his brows at the blond. He got the feeling that Harry wasn't very fond of the boy. Of course, as the spawn of Lucius, Remus didn't blame him.

"I think you and Sn-er... Severus can find something to do on your own. Remus and I are off to meet with Ron and Hermione."

Severus thought he saw a pink tinge on the blond's cheeks, but Malfoy still puffed out his chest and sneered.

"Planning the Weasel and Granger's wedding, Potter?"

Harry grinned and shook his head. "No, but that's not far in coming. Be nice and maybe you'll be invited. Oh, wait. I just remembered that they might not want a predjudice pureblood there to bring down everyone's mood."

With that, Harry turned on his heels and headed down the hall, leaving Remus to look appologetically at Malfoy, though he had no idea why he did so, before trotting off with a quick goodbye to Severus.

"Well, I suppose we can just go to the dungeons," Malfoy said after Severus had caught his attention. He had been watching Harry's retreating back for more time than was neccessary. It was obvious to Severus, as they made their way in the opposite direction, that Draco Malfoy had a crush on Harry Potter. Maybe this was what he and Remus were supposed to do. Get the two to realize their attraction for one another?

With a scowl and inward groan, he shook his head. Merlin, he hated playing Matchmaker. Maybe he would just slip James's son a love potion and lock him in the broom cupboard with Malfoy and be done with it.

With another groan, he shuddered. Even the potion wasn't a very sunny prospect.

He absolutely loathed love potions to the core.

(Chapter 1)

Thank you.

Chapter One- Snape’s Discovery

Remus Lupin was very bored, to say the least. It was odd that he shouldn't take the opportunity to get some extra reading and studying done, as he had the Gryffindor common room to himself. All the Gryffindors but him had gone home for the Christmas Holidays; even Sirius was gone, staying at the Potter's with James. James had invited him as well, but Remus had politely declined, insisting in a teasing manner that he needed the peace and quiet for a change, and that he could use the extra study time since their exams weren't that far away. Now, however, he found the idea of cracking open a book very unappealing.

He sighed and lifted himself up off the couch. If he didn't do something he knew he would die prematurely from utter boredom. Leaving the common room, he stopped as he saw Severus Snape making his way towards him. He grinned lightly. He and Snape had made amends of sorts, without Sirius and James's knowledge. Every once in a while, Remus would strike up a conversation with the Slytherin in the hopes of a possible friendship. He couldn't really explain it, but he liked Snape. The boy was intelligent in a way that he, James, Sirius, and Peter were not. The fact that Snape had sought him out was good news in his eyes. He smiled and made his way towards the boy.

“Severus,” he said kindly. “Doing well, I hope.”

Snape said nothing but an abrupt nod was answer enough for Remus. He frowned slightly, however, as he noticed that Snape was shifting from side to side, hands twisting together.

“Something wrong?”

Once again, Snape didn't answer but looked around before stepping closer.

“Follow me,” he whispered and without another word, he turned on his heels and started back down the corridor.

Brows raised, Remus hurried after and looked at the boy quizzically as they entered the library.

“You need help with an assignment?”

Remus had offered his help to Snape if he ever needed help with an assignment.

“Just follow me, Lupin,” Snape hissed and Remus fell silent. It was best to keep one's mouth shut is Snape was in a temper. James and Sirius had yet to learn that.

They passed the tables, making their way to the long rows of shelves. Snape led him to the very last shelf and stopped suddenly as he came to the middle. Watching as Snape raised his hand to pull out a book, Remus felt utterly perplexed. He was even more so when Snape handed him the book. Snape had dragged him all the way here to show him a book?

“Open to a page near the middle and read,” Snape ordered. Remus was beginning to dislike the abruptness with which Snape was speaking to him.

“Now, look here, Severus--”

“Just do it, Lupin,” Snape barked, leaving no brook for argument. With a sigh, Remus flipped open the book and read for a few moments before his eyes widened slightly. Flipping a few pages, he read once more before he looked at Snape.

“Why are our names in this book?"

Snape rolled his eyes. “You expect me to know the answer to that, Lupin?”

“Surely you didn't think that I would know.”

“I merely thought you'd want to see it for yourself. Ours aren't the only names in that book. Black's, Potter's, and even McGonagall and Dumbledore's. Pettigrew was even mentioned--”

Snape stopped speaking. He was looking at the book in Remus's hands, eyes wide. Remus looked down and dropped the book which was now glowing, light spilling from the center. Remus experimentally reached his hand out to the light, Snape following suit. As their hands touched the center of the book, heat ran up their arms and before they could pull away, they felt a tugging. They were then pulled into the book, which shut itself.

Coming to, Remus and Snape opened their eyes to a beaming Albus Dumbledore.

“Welcome, Misters Lupin and Snape. I trust your journey was well.”

Edited by summerborn. For the last year, Kyouya had been battling with feelings for his best friend that should never have arisen. Each time he now looked into those impossibly hued eyes, he felt himself getting pulled in and lost in the pools of lavender . He couldn't let that happen, but he also couldn't help it. Looking up from the book, his eyes locked with his friends and he could see the same love and want that mirrored in his own. His breath caught and he ran his tongue instictively over his lips. The grin widened on Tamaki's lips before he turned around, brushing back the hair that had fallen into his eyes.

Tell me that we belong together

Dress it up with the trappings of love

I'll be captivated

I'll hang from your lips

Instead of the gallows of heartache that hang from above

Tamaki pulled Kyouya to the side, down a hallway that was deserted, and pressed him lightly against the wall. He leaned in and whispered a confession, soft and sweet, before pressing soft kisses down his friend's neck. Kyouya could only whisper half-hearted reasons why they couldn't- shouldn't- do this before turning his neck to give Tamaki better access. Tamaki's deep laugh vibrated against Kyouya's skin as Tamaki muttered that because they wanted it, any reason why they shouldn't do it didn't matter.

I'll be your crying shoulder

I'll be your love suicide

and I'll be better when I'm older

I'll be the greatest fan of your life

Kyouya growled as he threw a book across the room at his best friend and lover. Tamaki had informed him of the arranged marriage his father had set up for him years ago. For the last year, he and Tamaki had shared a relationship that meant everything to him, even if he had never told Tamaki this or admitted it to himself. He did now, his emotional yells echoing off of Tamaki's bedroom walls. Tamaki stood there, his lips pressed together as tightly as his hands were clasped. When the anger finally left him, he sat defeated on the bed as tears slipped relentlessly from his eyes. He didn't even push the blond away when he wrapped his arms around him, pulling him against him. He cried shamelessly into Tamaki's shirt like he had never cried before.

Rain falls angry on the tin roof

As we lie awake in my bed

You're my survival, you're my living proof

My love is alive not dead

Kyouya lay awake, his head on Tamaki's bare chest. He shouldn't have allowed anything to happen that night, especially since Tamaki was as good as married, but his emotions and own selfish needs had gotten the better of him. He sighed and looked up at Tamaki, surprised to find tears rolling down his cheeks. The rain outside mirrored his feelings deep inside. Leaning up, Kyouya licked at one of the tears before pressing his lips longingly. Tamaki kissed back, his own kiss just as needing. At this moment it dawned on Kyouya that Tamaki didn't want the marriage just as much as Kyouya didn't want him to marry. They proved their unfailing love to one another that night, a wordless promise that they would do whatever they could to stay together.

Tell me that we belong together

Dress it up with the trappings of love

I'll be captivated I'll hang from your lips

Instead of the gallows of heartache, that hang from above

Tamaki stood unmoving as his father slapped him hard across the face. Kyouya bit his lip to keep from saying anything as Tamaki's father yelled that Tamaki was disgracing his family and that he was no longer a son of his. Kyouya was surprised because he had always found Tamaki's father something like a big narcissistic teddy bear. When it came his turn to tell his father, he was ready for the slap that connected with his face, but his father never yelled. He was silent as his sister told him that he and Tamaki should leave. Before they could, his father pointed his finger at Tamaki and snarled that it was his and the idiotic club's fault that his son had come to love a man. Tamaki replied that no one forced feelings onto anyone, that they just happened and would have happened regardless of the club. He told the man that he loved Kyouya far more than anyone else could hope to, including his father himself. The man raised his hand and came at Tamaki, but Kyouya stepped between them and said coldly that they were leaving and that he no longer concidered himself a Ootori. Tamaki was speechless as he followed his friend and lover out. As they stood at the steps of the Ootori mansion, they realized that they were both exiles but they had each other, and that was what mattered.

I'll be your crying shoulder

I'll be your love suicide

and I'll be better when I'm older

I'll be the greatest fan of your life

Tamaki cried happily as Kyouya slipped on a solid gold band. Their families had come to realize that their sons had meant their feelings for the other man true and a year after being exiled, they were welcomed back into their families and allowed to legalize their partnership. Two years out of highschool, Kyouya and Tamaki felt they were ready to take part in a partnership. They each went out and bought a ring and a week later, with only friends and the other members of the host club as witnesses, they were named legal partners by the government of Japan and Kyouya Ootori became Kyouya Suoh. Many of the witnesses wondered if the right man had been made bride, the way Tamaki's waterworks started and ended at random moments.

I've been dropped out, burned up, fought my way back from the dead

Tuned in, turned on, Remembered the things that you said

Kyouya peered around a wall. He had joined his family's police force, and came quick to take lead of it. He was calm, cool, and collected- everything needed in a great leader. The hand holding his gun was steady and he jumped out from his cover, pointing the gun at the man. The man wasn't there and his ears heard something behind him, but by the time he could turn and shoot, metal pierced through his skin and his vision began to fog. Another shot rang through his ears and he knew that the criminal had been shot. Blackness threatened to over come him and he could only whisper for his forcemates to get Tamaki. He needed Tamaki.

I'll be your crying shoulder

I'll be your love suicide

and I'll be better when I'm older

I'll be the greatest fan of your life

Tamaki was silent as he watched his partner's casket lower into it's grave. No tears fell from his eyes. No tears wanted to come. He just watched fixatedly, as if it would cause his lover to jump out of the casket, a clipboard in hand, ready to tell Haruhi that she still owed so much on her debt. As the dirt was shoveled on top, he turned wordlessly and passed his father and Kyouya's father. Niether attempted to stop him, but before he reached his car, he felt a tug on his sleeve. He looked down at the small black haired boy that he and Kyouya had adopted as their son and smiled painfully. The boy tugged again and Tamaki picked him up, pressing a soft kiss to his cheek. The boy hugged him tight and whispered that it was okay to cry, that Mommy would understand if he cried for him, and that everything would be okay. Tamaki hugged his son and let the tears fall freely as they got into the car. Together, father and son cried for their lost loved one.

She ignored her feelings and now he's married. She has lost her chance, but someone else will admit his feelings for her.

Chapter 1

Haruhi Fujioka did not want to attend a reception for the students who attended Ouran High Academy when she attended it. While that had been only ten years ago, she had still let any remembrance of it and the people there recede from her mind as she went on to pursue her dream of becoming a lawyer.

Over the years following high school, she pushed herself and worked hard. The work paid off as she was now one of the best lawyers in Japan and was quite wealthy, though as a commoner born, she rarely ever displayed her financial status unless a need arise.

Haruhi chewed on her lip. It was a habit she had picked up the years following high school and it surfaced whenever she felt particularly vulnerable and anxious. In the courtroom she was in her element. Here, back at this place of her youth, she was in their element.

His element.

Haruhi had not, could not, forget the blond who had introduced her to fun and friendship when she had no one. While he, and the others, were completely and irrevocably arrogant, they had become her friends and helped her when no one else had. She had often thought him narcissistic and annoying, but somewhere along the line she had fallen for him, and hard. Afraid of her own feelings, she ignored them and delighted in the near future when she no longer share the same school as him and her feelings would disappear. They had disappeared for a while, but now that she stood among other students that she remembered, she felt the feelings overcome her as if a tidal wave surging forward.

Her thoughts were interrupted as a pair of identical laughs reached her ears and both hands were seized by a pair of redheaded twins, grinning from ear to ear.

"You may no longer go as a boy, Haruhi, but anyone can spot you with ease."

Haruhi studied the one who held her right hand, who'd been the one to speak, and narrowed her eyes a moment before smiling. "Is that so, Hikaru?"

The grins widened and the other twin laughed. "After all these years, you're still the only person besides our parents who can tell us apart. Shame they never adopted you."

"Must you hog Haruhi-chan to yourselves?"

Haruhi blinked as she took in a tall blond man striding towards her, a soft smile on his handsome face. Her eyes widened and the twins laughed beside her.

"You should see the look on your face, Haruhi," Kaoru choked. Haruhi ignored them and attempted to find her voice.

"Huh-Hunny-san?"

The blonde smiled and nodded. "Trust me, you're not the only one to react like that. I believe quite a few old clients were let down because I did not retain my boy-like looks and manners."

"I too was speechless."

This was a new voice, and it was this voice that made Haruhi pause. She turned around and found herself facing Tamaki Suoh. Tamaki smiled and waved his hand grandly at the room.

"Would any of you have seen me as the chairman of this school?"

The three of them nodded and traded looks.

Tamaki put his hand to his heart. "It is my honor, pride and joy. It is with the same love that I bestow upon my wife and child that I love this school."

Haruhi had stopped hearing him at the words 'wife and child'. No one noticed her change in attitude as it was normal for her to not say much at all. She listened to the others talk and answered questions asked of her. Mori was the next to join them and the two of them discussed their carreers as the other three reminiced all the things they'd put her through. Finally, with a sigh she left them, excusing herself but promising to come back before the night was over.

With a groan, she made her way out of the school and pressed her back against the wall of the building, looking up at the bright stars above.

"Mom, Dad," she whispered. "You guys would have known what to do."

"I don't think it does any good to talk to the stars, Fujioka-san."

Haruhi felt a chill run down her spine and looked to her side where a tall dark haired man wearing a pair of oval-shapped glasses leaned against the wall, eyes trained to the sky. When he felt her eyes on him, his own dark eyes found hers and locked them.

"Long time, no see, Haruhi," he said with a cold grin. Once again that chill went down her back, but Haruhi was surprised to find that she liked it.

"Kyouya-san," she whispered, not sure why it she did. The man grinned beside her and took a few steps closer until they were close enough to each other that she could feel the heat radiating from his body.

"You saw that he's married, then?"

Haruhi sighed. It was pointless asking Kyouya how he knew she'd been upset by this fact. He always knew things about everyone. She nodded and looked away.

"You should have told him your feeling before he left," Kyouya said simply, as if they were merely discussing the weather.

"It's not that easy, Kyouya. I wasn't even sure of my feelings back then, and I know I've waited too long, but if he had any similar feelings, he wouldn't have married whoever she is. Anyway, would you tell a person you loved that you loved them?"

Kyouya moved closer and nodded. "Indeed, Haruhi," he said and reached out a hand to cup her chin. "And I'm telling you now."

With a swift motion, his unoccupied hand was on the small of her back as he pulled her close, leaning down to kiss her softly.
